What is the new standard?

So what we are talking about is the new Australian standard for switchboards which is AS/NZS 61439 which comes in to play May 2021.

Effectively if your secondary protection board has not been type tested and certified you will not be able to turn on your commercial solar system.

Shall and Should

As with all standards there is a ‘shall’ and ‘should’ component, and with the requirement for type testing and certification for boards - this is a definite ‘shall’!

What does it mean for you?

As a designer or installer of commercial solar systems you must ensure that your board is compliant and fit for duty, as the ramifications both financially and from a customer satisfaction point of view can be dire.

GridSafe from Greenwood

Our full range of GridSafe boards have been undergoing rigorous testing for the last year in preparation for the new standard and are ready to go with no change in lead times and pricing.

What now?

We have made the process to order an AS/NZS 61439-ready board incredibly easy, head over to our GridSafe Quotes page now, and:
