What We Teach

We look at the "nitty gritty" of what's required in the design process, from an assessment of loads all the way through to panel string configurations.

Key financial aspects and hidden costs

We go through the key financial points you need to address when planning a design prior to installation.

There are many financial factors that need to be considered when designing a successful commercial installation, from compliance and testing through

Key Topics:
  • Secondary protection
  • Grid applications
  • Structural engineering report

System design

Understand the finer details involved in designing high performing systems.

The main module in this course covers all the key technical aspects of actually designing a successful commercial solar system. From AC / DC requirements, to string configurations and inverter options - you'll gain the knowledge required to deliver complete system designs.

Key Topics:
  • String configurations
  • Parallel or not - pros and cons
  • Inverter options
  • Overclocking
  • AC side
  • DC side
  • Voltage rise

Cost benefit analysis

What's required to maximise system performance and efficiency through design.

Understanding how to maximise the performance of your system will ensure you achieve the best results possible for your client. We go over factors that have an impact on the effectiveness of systems and how they can impact cost.

Key Topics:
  • Panel orientation
  • Flat roof vs tilt frames
  • Output comparisons

Key tools and limitations

Get an understanding of the key tools that successful installers use when designing systems.

Making sure you have all the required data prior to designing your system will ensure your installation goes smoothly and is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Topics:
  • On-site checklist
  • Financial component
  • Inverter voltage windows
  • Physical limitations
